Kitten and Puppy Vaccinations

Setting the Foundation for a Healthy Life

At Takurua Vets, we believe that kitten and puppy vaccination consults are crucial for setting the foundation of a long, healthy life for your new furry friend. These consults go beyond administering vaccines; they are an opportunity to thoroughly assess your young pet's overall health and development. At each of your pet’s vaccination visits, we perform a comprehensive health check, monitor their growth, and provide essential guidance on nutrition, parasite control, socialisation, and training.

During your visit, we also address any questions or concerns you might have as a new pet owner, ensuring you have all the information and support needed for your kitten or puppy's well-being. By focusing on preventative care and early detection of potential health issues, our vaccination consults help ensure your pet grows up strong, happy, and healthy.

Your pet will require an initial series of vaccinations every 3-4 weeks between 6 & 16 weeks of age, followed by a primary adolescent booster at 6 months of age.  Flea and worm control during these early days are also particularly important.

Annual Vaccination boosters

Annual booster vaccinations are important to keep your pets healthy and ensure they are protected against nasty diseases such as Parvovirus and Kennel cough in dogs and Cat flu for our feline friends.  However, their vaccination visit is so much more than just a routine injection. It is a comprehensive health exam where we will give your pet a thorough top-to-tail check over. We also take the time to discuss any concerns you may have about your pet’s health, provide personalised advice on nutrition, behaviour, and preventative care, and update you on the latest health recommendations.  This holistic approach ensures that your pet not only stays protected against diseases but also thrives in every aspect of their health and well-being.

Different vaccinations are required at different times and life stages, please contact us if you have any questions, or click below to book your pet’s vaccination
