We have created a low stress environment for your pets

We realise that a visit to the vets could be a stressful experience for some pets so we have created a space that is friendly, calm and airy. Our purpose built clinic features separate waiting areas, consulting rooms, and hospital wards for cats and dogs. This helps to reduce noise, visual stimulation and odours from other species that could cause unwanted excitement or stress for some pets.

Rumour has it, we have the best treats in town…

We encourage all owners to drop in with their dogs from time to time for “happy visits”.  Bring your dog to come and have a nosy around our clinic, grab a few treats and some pats or cuddles from our team. This could help your dog to create a positive association with our space for when they have to come for a medical checkup or procedure.

For cats we recommend placing them in a secure carrier, with a towel or blanket over the top. This enclosed, darkened space will help them feel secure during travel and at the clinic. We also recommend placing a familiar blanket or towel inside the carrier and leaving the carrier out at home for a few days prior to their visit, perhaps feeding a few meals or treats inside the carrier so that they can familiarise themselves with the carrier before they need to travel.

That’s nice, but my pet is still terrified?

For pets that are particularly fearful, stressed, and anxious, we offer pre-visit medications to ease their apprehension. These medications are carefully tailored to meet the individual needs of each pet, not only providing immediate relief but also helping to retrain their nervous systems. This can significantly reduce their anxiety for future visits too. By addressing their fears proactively, we aim to create a more positive and less stressful experience for both you and your pet.

Please get in touch if you need advice about bringing an anxious or fearful pet for a visit, or if you would like to request pre-visit medications.
